About CICF

General Introduction

China International Chorus Festival (CICF) is a national art festival held in Beijing in every two years. Approved by the state council, CICF is a cultural activity which brings choruses both at home and abroad together to sing. CICF is organized by Bureau for External Cultural Relations, Ministry of Culture, P.R.C. and the China Arts & Entertainment Group and co-organized by China Cultural International Tours Inc. As the largest-scale and highest-level international chorus festival held in China, CICF plays an important role in improving performance level of the participating choruses and promoting cultural exchanges between China and other countries. A much-loved festival among worldwide choruses, CICF has a great influence and enjoys unanimous praise from professionals, groups as well as people from all walks of life. According to incomplete statistics, during the past ten festivals, the number of participating choruses (foreign teams accounting for 45%) has exceeded 500 and performers 27,000.

In the tenet of “Build a harmonious world together for the future—Peace and Friendship”, CICF invites people from different countries and regions, of different nationalities and colors to come together and compete in the same platform. Performers will use their voices to sing for peace and friendship, to express their happiness and desire for peaceto spread friendship and love throughout the world.

CICF sticks to the principle of combining the art competition with cultural exchange and performance and try to organize an international and open art festival with the character of authority and fairness.

The 11th CICF will be held in Beijing from July 15 to July 21, 2010. At that period, Beijing will provide a platform for chorus members from all over the world to come together as the peace builders. They will get to know and make friends with each other and use their songs to picture our beautiful life and convey peace and friendship.
