China International Chorus Festival (hereinafter referred to as “CICF”), launched in 1992, is a national art festival approved by the state council, which is held in Beijing, the capital of China every two years. So far it has been held for nine times successfully. It can be rated as the largest-scale and the highest-level international chorus festival held in China, and is also an important chorus art activity absorbing the professional and amateur choruses at home and abroad to take part in. It provides powerful impetus for promoting the culture exchanges between China and other countries in the world and improving the performance level of the domestic choruses. It is very popular with the choruses all over the world and has relatively big influence in the world so that it has aroused wildly attentions from professional individuals and teams and people from all works of life. According to the incomplete statistics, the competition choruses have been beyond 500 during last nine festivals, and the foreign teams account for almost 45%.

In the tenet of “Building the harmonious world together for the future—Peace and Friendship”, CICF invites people from different countries, regions, and nationalities with different colors to come together and compete in the same platform. They will use their songs to sing for the peace and friendship of the world, to express their happiness and desire for the peace and spread friendship and love for the world.

CICF persists in the principle of combining the art competition with exchange performance together and highlights international, epochal, open, artistic, authoritative and fair competition characters.
The 10th CICF will be held in Beijing, the capital of China, from July 28, 2010 to August 2, 2010. At that moment, Beijing will prop up a great musical sky so that chorus members from all over the world come together as the builders of the peace, from unknown to known, from known to making friends, by using the songs to transfer the peace and friendship and picturing the beautiful life.
